In today’s society where the majority of furniture is sold in a flat pack box, left to the consumer to assemble. We have lost the beauty and creative nature of hand cut decorative joinery. It is this style of joinery that has kept me interested in the craft of woodworking. I enjoy incorporating its beauty into my designs, and enjoy the challenge of honing my skills to be able to executing a piston fit joint.
It is the subtle details of these joints and skill it takes to execute them that sets custom furniture apart. Up close they are beautiful to look at all on their own, but when incorporated into a completed piece, is when they earn their keep. It is what make a piece scream of quality in craftsmanship and design.
