I paired black steel legs with a warm walnut top and shelf, and there’s something about that combo that just works. The steel keeps things grounded and durable, while the walnut brings warmth and character to the space.
Walnut’s one of those woods that gets better the more you look at it. The grain patterns have serious depth, especially once the finish brings everything out. It’s rich without being heavy, and it plays beautifully against the matte black legs.
The top case has continuous grain patterns that flow across the top and down the sides—one of those details that makes a big difference when you notice it. I built in a drawer to keep a remote control handy or hide away that living room clutter for when guests come over.
This particular build came in at 14″ wide by 24″ long and 24″ tall, perfectly sized to fit its space in a living room without overwhelming it.
