Big Leaf Maple Dining Table In the Arts and Crafts Style - Custom Furniture

With its beautiful grain and natural color, this custom dining table is a perfect example of a Mountain Contemporary Dining room accent.

All the wood for this custom trestle table came from the same tree, a Big Leaf Maple that grew in Independence, Oregon. The top was made using 2″ thick book-matched maple slabs. I added breadboard edges to help keep the top from warping and cupping. The breadboard edges are pinned with walnut.

The table’s base is constructed using traditional arts and crafts through tenon joinery, wedged with walnut to match the pegs in the top breadboard.

My client loved the table so much that he asked me to make a Maple Bench to go with it.

Sizes are approximate:

30″ wide
30″ Tall
72″ long
