This bench was made from a single tree and was built in the Mountain Contemporary style, It features through mortise and tenon joinery that was wedged with walnut to add a decorative flair.
In one of my earlier works, I was asked to make a Maple Trestle Table for a client. The goal was to make all the parts from one tree, which was felled on his friend’s property outside of Independence, Oregon. He liked the table so much that he decided to have me build this matching bench from the remaining wood.
The bench features the same arts and crafts style through tenons as the table.
